Both main actors from the original Phantom of the Opera have gone onto their own separate singing careers.

No they don't that was 18 years ago. But don't worry the current Broadway cast is excellent.

No they don't, there are only 3 people in the current cast who are from the obc (original broadway cast), but the are not the leads (they started out in the chorus and have understudied some of the leads).

Generally the lead actors stay on for one season, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, but definetly not for 18 years. I'm sure that Crawford and Brightman do benefit concerts every once in a while.
