In the new movie Phantom of the Opera, I need to know something...?

First thing, there is apparently an older Phantom of the Opera movie in 'black n' white'. What is it called?

Also, there is always these scenes in the new movie where in black and white, theres this old man with the playing music monkey toy. Who is this guy? Is he the Phantom when older? And he is looking at another older woman who may be Madame Giry when older. Is that her?

Thanks, hope ya understand my question(s)

omg! old dude = roaul i.e christines lover hu as you said is looking at madame giry, and there have been several poto movies b4 with the same title
The old man is Raoul de Chagny...the guy that she fell in love with. You can tell it's him because when he goes to the grave site at the end of the movie there is a rose (left by the phantom) already there! And the old lady is Madame Giry.

The old movie is also called "The Phantom of the Opera" (1943)

Here's a link about the movie:
This is one of my favorite movies, I am not sure about your first question but the old man is Raoul *the one that ends up marrying Christine* and the women is either Madame Giry or her daughter (I forget her name) because you would think Madame Giry would be a lot older, but im not positive, sorry if I am wrong.
There are been several "Phantom of the Operas" over the years. The one usually considered the best is the 1925 version that features Lon Chaney (the man of a thousand faces) as the Phantom. You should be able to rent it at most video stores. It is worth taking the time to see.
i don't know bout the old phantom of the opera question but the new phantom movie in b/w it is the phantom when older and it is madame giry when older
well, i am a big fan of that movie!well, i dont know what the old version of that movie is called, but in the newer version, that is Ralf, looking back, when he and Christine were together, Christine died, and he is having memories of her. all the black, and white parts are just how things are now. the old man with the monkey is Ralf, and the old woman is Christine, like when he saw the couple looking at that jewelry, he was picturing him, with Christine.
It is also called Phantom of the Opera. The old man is Raoul and the old lady is Meg. (The old lady is wearing the necklace Meg picks up before they go back to black %26amp; white)
My roommate, once again.

There are quite a few older versions of Phantom of the Opera. The most likely candidate for your question is the Lon Chaney film, released in 1925. For more versions, follow this link:

In the new movie (2004), the older man with the music box in the black and white portions is Raoul, one of two men in the famous love triangle we know as the Phantom of the Opera. The older woman is Madame Giry, the former ballet instructor at the Opera House.

I hope this was helpful!
