Wear say:
Khakis and a nice blouse, pastel or white.
Dress pants.
A nice suit jacket.
Nice black or brown dress shoes.
Don't wear anything that will make you too warm. I have been to Opera's and its either really hot or freezing.

Tux and gloves.....maybe even a cain
Well, you'll want to wear a dress shirt, nice slacks and a tie at the very least. If you want to go a little more formal, a suit is fine, but a tux is probably overkill, especially for a matinee. Generally, you want to wear nice clothes, especially since you've probaby spent a pretty penny on these tickets.
I also looked at the webpage for the Princess of Wales theater and they reccommend business casual, although they do say that there is no formal dress code. You'll probably blend in the most if you dress likewise. In this case, I'd say make sure you look sharp (nice shirt, pants without holes in them and not too many pockets, and nice shoes), and make sure that you're comfortable in your clothing. The Phantom of the Opera is a good show, but it's long, so you want something that you can sit for a while in without feeling constricted.
well i should say
to wear a suit perferably black
with a tie
and no tennis shoes
dress to impress
First of all, Phantom of the Opera is NOT an opera, it is a musical (sorry, just had to throw that out there). But I'd say at least wear slacks or khakis with some dress shoes and a buttonup shirt. Tie would be even better. You could probably go with or without the jacket depending on your own preference.
Dress Pants, button-down shirt, and at least bring a jacket. Tie is up to you entirely.
Simple rules for such an occassion.
1. Matinee - Shirt, tie, slacks
2. Evening - Coat and tie or tux
anything less would just be uncivilized lol
